NUBAA Nation: The request for access has been answered, and it’s time for us to demonstrate our commitment. Now that fall recruitment is in our sights, it’s time to link NUBAA Nation with NU’s admission staff. We need you to volunteer for assisting with local recruitment efforts. Once you sign up, the admission officer in charge of the region where you live will send out an introductory email to establish contact. You will also receive a handbook that describes the “how to’s” of admission volunteer work.
A couple of things to keep in mind:
1. College fairs tend to take place only during the academic year, and mostly in the fall. For most volunteers, October will be by far the busiest month of the year. We are at the mercy of the high school calendar. While most college fairs are organized by high schools, others could be sponsored by a community based organization or other independent organization. Any fees will be covered by admissions.
2. Once the admission officer establishes contact with volunteers and the handbook has been reviewed, requests to cover college fairs will be sent. All admission materials will be provided by NU, including small brochures and a Northwestern banner. They will be shipped to volunteers in plenty of time for the fair. We do not have takeaways for the students like pencils, pens, hats, etc.
If you’re interested and willing, let us know via the Contact Form, and I’ll forward an enrollment form, which should be returned to me via email by Monday, July 28th, and I will forward en masse to NU. This is put up or shut up time. This is a way to directly impact student recruitment. Please volunteer and take a few minutes to fill out the form. Doing so isn’t a commitment to attend events that don’t mesh with your schedule, but not volunteering excludes us from the process. We need volunteers from all of our MultiCity Groups and beyond. Thank you.
